What is Respite?

Respite Care is available in the following counties:

Christian     20 vouchers/hours a month
Greene        20 vouchers/hours a month
Taney          Money allotted each month

Our Respite Program provides the primary caregiver the resources to obtain intermittent, reliable, safe, and secure care for their loved one. We know it is difficult trying to meet the needs of a son or daughter with a developmental disability. We also know that respite care can be a very important asset to you and your family.

To be eligible for the Respite Program a family must have a son and/or daughter with a developmental disability that resides in the home.

Basic Guidelines:

bulletFamilies will have a co-pay based on income.
bulletFamilies may purchase up to 20 vouchers (hours) a month.
bulletEach family determines whom they want to use as a respite care provider. The provider works for the family and may be a relative or friend; the provider cannot reside in the home of the client. The provider cannot be a parent, step-parent, foster care parent, or legal guardian of the client.

If you reside in Christian, Greene, or Taney Counties and are interested in signing up for respite care or would like more information, please contact:
